In the wake of high profile securities fraud cases and with the passage of Sarbanes-Oxley, the regulatory and enforcement climate in the United States has become increasingly more aggressive. Our practice reflects that current emphasis.

We have handled numerous SEC investigations and criminal and regulatory enforcement matters, including representing individuals and corporations in fraud in the initial public offering, in periodic reporting, insider trading and in mutual fund trading. We have also successfully defended enforcement actions relative to regulations promulgated by the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.

Litigating regulatory and enforcement actions is particularly delicate given that securities fraud investigations and enforcement cases are often accompanied by civil lawsuits, licensure revocation and other sanction. Consistent with our philosophy and practice, all potential parallel actions receive appropriate attention by Welsh & Recker.
